I’m a Northern Virginia based therapist who specializes in holistic sex therapy, self-worth and anxiety, and relationships.

My Style

At the core of my approach to therapy I believe that you are deserving of a life filled with connection, joy, and compassion. I believe there is nothing wrong with you and everything you do and feel makes sense in context.

I am a relational therapist, meaning I believe that humans are wired for connection and our connections have a great impact of how we feel about ourselves. We have an innate need to know we belong, are valued, important, and cared for. When we have experiences in life that question these needs to be true this can lead us to feeling anxious, depressed, and living with trauma. As a result we develop strategies for trying to move through these uncomfortable emotions. We often get stuck using these strategies even long after we know they are not helpful. This is where I come in.

To guide you through developing new and helpful strategies, I use an approach called Emotionally Focused Therapy to help you make sense of emotions, recognize patterns, and become more connected to yourself and others. My goal for you is not just symptom reduction but also for long lasting and sustainable healing.

My Guiding Principles

Collaboration

Therapy is about you. Your the only one who has lived your life and will continue to live you life. This knowledge is invaluable. Working with me is a collaborative process where you are the expert on yourself and your experiences and I bring my training, education, and skills. Together we work to bring you the life you long for.

Transparency

Therapy is about getting to know yourself, others, and the world in a new way. To do this, it is important that you feel safe enough to explore these parts of you and it requires me to be honest and upfront with you. You can trust that I will let you know what is going on and receive professional recommendations for your care.

Compassion

With me, you will find a gentle place to land. You will walk away with the experience of being seen, heard, and understood. I embrace the three components of compassion and self-compassion in each session with you: mindfulness, common humanity, and kindness. This practice is shown to increase healing, reduce pain, and promote meaningful connections.

Depth

You don’t just want to know how to do things differently, you want to feel relief. Depth allows us to know ourselves more fully. When we can have greater understanding of self it allows us clarity, compassion, and healing.
